Wet or humid environments — Gypsum and MDF fail when wet; PP is waterproof. This includes bathrooms, kitchens, basements, cold storage, and exterior soffits.
Retrofit and renovation — At 1.2–1.8 kg per sheet, PP board can be installed by one person without structural reinforcement. Gypsum, calcium silicate, and MgO boards weigh 5–10× more and often require two-person handling or mechanical lifts.

Where Conventional Materials Still Lead
